Lydia Deetz, is the daughter of Charles Deetz and the step-daughter of Delia Deetz. She is mostly refered to as a 'goth' girl. Lydia is a moody, angst-ridden goth who feels isolated in the world. Her father and step-mother do not take anything she says seriously and often ignore her for their own selfish pursuits. Lydia loves writing poetry, photography and loves anything supernatural and paranormal. Lydia appears to be the most sensible one of the whole household. Lydia, by the end of the film is more happy and well-adjusted since Adam and Barbara became her parental figures. The reason that her parents ignore her is because she is "strange and Unusual." At the end of the film her father and stepmother take a stronger role in her upbringing, having seen her nearly be forced into marriage with Beetlejuice. Lydia is shown with jet black hair which she often wears in a brushy ponytail with long parted bangs. She wears pale face makeup and peach eyeshadow around her eyelids, under her eyebrows and above her cheekbones. Lydia Deetz is from New York City.
